Q: What size should I order? How can I have my cake decorated?
A: Created specifically for your occasion! All cakes are frosted in homemade buttercream. and sometimes embellished with fondant, fresh flowers, candies, and more- The options are endless! Please keep in mind that additional decorations will increase the total price. The most popular size is a 6" cake, which serves 10-12.
Q: Can you accomodate allergies/intolerances?
A: While I enjoy baking for everyone, and try my best to accommodate allergies,
cross-contamination is always possible. My kitchen kitchen contains dairy, gluten, and nut products
Q: Do you offer wedding cakes?
A: Yes! I adore all things wedding! Wedding cakes are available in a variety of styles and sizes. My wedding cakes are priced based on the serving size, style, design, materials and labor. For wedding cake inquiries, please email Mikayla at mikaylascakery@gmail.com
Q: How do I care for my cake?
A: Cakes are best stored in the refrigerator, but they are most enjoyable when served at room temperature. To optimize your cake's taste, be sure to take it out of the fridge approximately 1-2 hours before consumption. Additionally, make sure the cake is shielded from direct sunlight and isn't exposed to excessive heat.
Any remaining cake can be refrigerated for up to 5 days or placed in the freezer for as long as two months.
Q: Do you deliver? Where do you deliver?
A: While pick up is preferred, delivery is available for Cochrane and the surrounding area for an additional fee.
Q: What is your pick up policy?
A: Once the product is received, Mikayla's Cakery is not responsible or held liable for any damage that may occur during transport, set-up, or display. Once you have the cake, cupcakes, or other treats in your vehicle and care, it is your responsibility to safely transport your treats.
Q: Are you working out of a commercial kitchen?
A: No. My creations are prepared in a clean and organized home kitchen that is not subject to inspection, following the Albertan low-risk home-prepared foods guidelines. Products are not for resale.

Q: How do I care for a tiered cake?
A: Tiered cakes consist of tiers separated by a board and supported by dowels. Certain decorations may contain internal supports like skewers or wires, so exercise caution when slicing the cake or consuming the decorations. In cases where your cake features fresh flowers, please note that they are not meant for consumption. Please remove them prior to cutting and serving the cake.
Q: What is the lead time for placing an order?
A: My cakes are meticulously handcrafted from scratch with fresh ingredients. While a last minute order can usually be accommodated, booking two weeks or more in advance is ideal to ensure availability, as well as guarantee specially required decorations are available.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit?
A: All orders will have a non-refundable deposit to secure your order for your event's date. Please note, all deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations within 48 hours of agreed upon pick up date will not receive full refunds. For deposits and e-transfers, please include your first, and last name as well as the date you booked with me for pick up. The email for transfers is mikaylascakery@gmail.com
Q: Do you have cake toppers and toys?
A: Cake toppers are provided by you if you want one. I do not carry cake toppers but are more than happy to work with any toppers or toys provided by you!
