This is a different kind of post than usual. For ten years now, so many of you in Cochrane have supported me through Mikayla’s Cakery by trusting me to be part of your birthdays, weddings, and milestones. That support has meant the world to me.

Now, I’m tackling something new, because why not add a campaign to the mix? 😆 Some of you may know this by now, but I’ve put my name forward to run for Cochrane Town Council in the October 20th election.

Between now and October 20, most of my time will be devoted to this campaign. Hopefully I see a few of you at the doors 😊 I’ll still be in the kitchen and taking orders, but my response time may be a little slower than usual.

To those who’ve stood by me as a baker, thank you. And if you choose to support me as a candidate too, I’ll be just as grateful. It’s always been about being part of something bigger than myself, and that’s what this community means to me.

And, it was ordered by my preschool teacher, which was a full-circle moment for me!

I had originally planned on doing candied lemons, but I may or may not have forgotten them on the stove 😂
But! Air fryer for the win. I managed to dehydrate some more lemons fairly quickly, and I love how they turned out.

This one feels a little extra special- Lilo & Stitch was the first movie I ever watched (and it’s still my favorite). So with the new movie dropping this weekend, it felt like the perfect time to post this one from a few weeks back. Chocolate cake with a rich chocolate ganache, soft blues, tropical greens, and just the right amount of Stitch. Grown-up vibes with a nostalgic heart 🌴🍍🏄🏻‍♀️

This weekend is my busiest since summer with 9 orders on the go, and next weekend is shaping up to be just as wild. Sleep? Who dat? 😂

Feeling so grateful for all the support—lots of ideas and changes on my mind for this year, and I can’t wait to see where it all goes!
